8 Nov 07Reached HK international Airport about 8.15 pm. Waited through the customs for about 1/2 hour before going through. Hong Kong immigration is really busy. There's always long queues for waiting to go through the immigration counters. And the wait is really really long. Finally met LP again after so such a long period of time! How excited I was! Took the A21 bus to Kowloon, time to see the busy night of Hong Kong again! Stopped in Mong Kok for dinner and snacks to fill up my hungry stomach.
Curry fishballs are delicious! I say it is a must try for those going to Hong Kong! It's delicious to eat spicy balls in the cold weather!
The first night was spent in LP's apartment. I had to be smuggled into the house! Cause her father haven't got to know me yet. So we sneaked in while her dad was in his room and hid in her room for the whole night. I felt I was in some spy thriller film... lol
After settling down, we went out for some desserts in
Kowloon City which has lots of restaurants and dessert stalls. Went to this dessert shop which is sweet, nice and healthy! Took the name card of the shop so for those going to Hong Kong can visit this shop in Kowloon City.

Lp's graduation day at Hong Kong Baptist University. Took a few pictures with her in the school backyard. Had a morning Yum Cha in her school's Dim Sum restaurant. Really delicious dim sums there. Had har gao, siew mai, fuzu wrapped shrimps and deep fried, any many more that I can't remember.
The school is separated into 2 locations. The new building and the old building. Went to the new building to register her for her attendance. Met lots of her friends there along the way and took many pictures together.
Really lots of people there, oh did I mentioned there are many
babes there? Hahaha just to wet your appetite. Girls are pretty in Hong Kong. The school is quite small compared to NTU. You definitely won't get lost in there! Dumb NTU being built so far away from home. Graduations are really boring. It's just waiting for your certificate and a handshake from the school's principal. Then after a speech, it's done! I guess the most enjoyable part is taking photos with your friends in the University and the moment of graduation before you head out to the working society.

Did I mentioned that the most enjoyable part is taking photos? It's definitely the most tiring part too! Took lots and lots of pictures from the morning till the evening that everyone was really shagged out. After all the tiring photo taking, had dinner with LP and her friends. Thereafter, went back home for a rest and had family dinner with her mum and sis. Had a really full dinner!!! Her mum knowing that I liked seafood, she bought many prawns and fishes. The only ones eating them were her mum and I cause Lp and her younger sis doesn't really like seafood.
After a nice dinner, we were about to leave home when her dad just came back! I had to run back to hide in a cupboard in case her dad came into her room! Finally he left after a while and we were able to leave. Crazy experience!
We can't stay for another night in her home cause her sister is back from China, so had to check into some hostel outside. Stayed in some backpacker accomodation called
USA Hostel. It is located in Mirador Mansion 美丽都大厦 in Tsim Sha Tsui. Mirador Mansion is a place where there are many backpacker hostel located. It is quite shady there, but not as complicated as the infamous Chungking Mansion 重慶大廈. But still it is pretty creepy over there. Lp was quite scared walking in there.
Well it's my first time trying out in a budget hostel, so it's quite and experience. There's a lot of foreigners staying in the hostels. However we didn't get the room which I booked. I wanted a double bed, but they gave us a twin bed instead. My girlfriend wasn't too happy about it. She wanted to see the double bed room which was even suckier than the twin room. So we took the twin room. The room is quite clean for a budget hostel although there are some things missing from what it was advertised. At least the air conditioning and heater was working. Budget hostel is probably affordable for backpackers in a group who needed a clean bed to sleep in. Those who are couples or girls, a decent hotel is better for safety reasons and a peace of mind though it's more expensive.

10 Nov 07Went to Macdonalds for breakfast in Central while Lp went for her lessons there. Stayed in Macdonalds for the whole afternoon studying Biomolecules while waiting for her. Hong Kong newspapers are pretty much interesting read. There are a few different types of newpapers but the most popular was probably the
Apple Daily which costs HK$6. Most of the news revolves around Hong Kong, little much news on the world. It has lots of lots of stock market and property analysis, I guess about 5-10 pages of it. This shows that stock playing is a very much big part of culture for Hong Kong residents. Well there's another very interesting read is there's a sex section where columnists will write about their sex experience with the various prostitutes in some XXX nightclub or bars. Many pictures of sexy prostitutes and recommendations on which girl gives the best service. Quite an exciting read for guys. But the writing was just too exaggerated that it gives you a good laugh! One sentence which the columnist wrote about having sex with big tits: "Banging her till it felt like flying into the sky and heavens" LOL. Funny!
After her lessons, we had sushi lunch at a good Japanese restaurant in
Causeway Bay. Took the electric tram to SOGO. Really a cheap way of transport! HK$2 for the trip only! Met some french tourists in the tram asking for directions to Causeway Bay. HK is quite a complicated place to look for direction cause the whole town looks all the same!
After a delicious lunch, we went to the ferry terminal to go to an island called
Cheung Chau 長洲.
It's a popular place for a beach resort and seafood. Took a fast craft there which was about 1/2 hour. The sun was setting when we reached there and the place was quiet and different from the fast paced of Hong Kong. Everyone walked at a leisurely pace while enjoying the fishing village scenery. The cold winds near the beach was blowing while we searched for our holiday resort... brrrrrrr. Finally checked into the room and we got a nice view of the sea!
Settled down for the nice and we went exploring the island. The night life there was great! You can see people having their seafood dinner at various seafood restaurants by the seaside, old people sitting at the benches gossiping, couples sharing ice cream bought from the convenience store. Kind of got used to the chattering of cantonese after a few days in Hong Kong.
Feeling peckish, we had some cheap seafood dinner by the seaside. Really really cheap! Had 3 dishes of seafood, had
scallops,
deep fried 九肚鱼, and
fried 濑尿虾. My first time trying such seafood which I had no idea what creatures are they. I have never seen them being sold in Singapore seafood restaurants.

The Deep fried 九肚鱼 is best eaten hot where it's still crispy and it taste well dipped with soya sauce. Fried 濑尿虾 is kind of like crayfish, but I really don't know what it is in english. Why is it called 尿虾, I guess because of the shell has a slight salty taste. But it taste really good. There is a kind of culture in Hong Kong where they gave you a pot of hot tea and a big bowl. The tea is to actually wash and sterilise your utensils, it can be used for drinking also. After rinsing your chopsticks, spoons, glasses and bowls, dump the tea into the bowl.
After a delicious dinner, we took a nice night walk around the village. You can see people barbecuing around their houses. Time seems to pass by slower in Cheung Chau. Saw some kids playing bubbles in front of their houses. The scene of bubbles flying around looked so pretty!

Woke up at dawn to watch the sunrise. But it was too foggy to see the sun rising. Then went back to sleep till the sun shines. Left the island about 9.30 am in the morning having "you tiao chee chung fun" Nice.
