Bulls seem running out of steam

Oil didn't rise above US$72. Today there's a sell off of oil. Geithner's plan seem like a total fucked up plan. America seems to be going into bigger financial trouble with all the debts that it created. Good news is we might see a small recovery. Bad news is it's small. Not sure about a bigger hole of trouble for the world.

Oil Futures going up

Oil prices are increasing again breaking US$72 per barrel. Will it again create the super high oil prices again? Damn air ticket prices will gonna increase if oil hits US$90.

Have we reached the bottom?

Just came back from a trading workshop by Conrad. Always learnt alot of trading stuffs from him. And when you thought everyone is saying that we have reached a bottom and the economy is starting to improve...... think again. This rally might be the biggest sucker rally. The scary picture hasn't been painted yet. Now people have been speculating whether it will be a "W" shaped recovery or a "U" shaped recovery. But now most probably it is going to be a "L" shaped recovery. Just imagine what L shape looks like. We are going to be stagnant for about 10 - 20 more years. Inflation is going to kill us, we are in a state of DEPRESSION. Every country in the world is now in recession, but the governments are just hiding the truth. Although the Sub-prime crisis is solved (or I assumed to be), there are still other crisis waiting to surface. What's next? Probably financial crisis again. More jobs lost. Thanks to those greedy banks.

Interestingly when we read the news, Singaporeans are still spending as if there is no recession. Just look at the number of people and their purchases at the computer fair (coming soon). Well, spending is a good thing as it stimulates the economy. But I wonder are we spending too much like the US? I think we are getting too complacent with our government.

US is not going to recover anytime soon. The worse scenario I painted that, US will go bankrupt. And this will lead to chaos in the world. Well a tiny piece of good news is that Asia is gonna be the next big player. And I'm sure everyone knows who will it be. (Hint: It's not Singapore).

Judging from the pesky trouble that North Korea is giving, or Pakistan. I can probably say that WAR is coming. But I don't know will it lead to World War 3. Neil will love it.

So are we still painting a beautiful picture?

Haven't been blogging much of my daily life these days. Life just seem so monotonous. Bought this face mask from KOSE for $18 (U.P $35) thanks to last min lobang from Jenny. I haven't tried this Japanese brand before as you know, some facial products are really expensive. But this should be very well known to women. Anyway, so I read some reviews saying it is really good and since it's at a big discount, I asked my sister to grab one for me. Vain aren't I? Hahahha! Yes I'm a bit of vain for some reasons, but I have been trying to take care of my face as a good facial complexion means a good and lucky life. I'm not being superstitious, but in terms of face reading, you'll know some things about a person's life by looking at his/her facial features. You can tell by reading the face of a person whether he/she is currently or will go through good or bad fortune. As a cantonese saying goes: "Your ricebowl and congee depends on your front". So take good care of your face!

NTU Employment Data

The NTU employment data is out. The biological sciences (honours) have an overall employment rate of 86.7% while full timers is 77.9%. Not many get hired it seems but the starting salary seems comforting with a mean of $2,963 and lowest salary at $2,586. We won NUS in terms of starting salary by a bit but lost in employment rate. Overall sciences have one of the lowest employment rate compared to the other degrees.

Economics students are one of the best paid.

Mark Moskowitz has been a professional trader for 18 years and has even run his own hedge fund. He breaks his own trading day into four parts:

Pre-Game—When he looks at charts and other data, and decides what stocks to buy.
Early Open—Begin early-order entry and the search for signs of support & resistance.
Mid-Day—As the market gets quiet, take time to review morning & strategize afternoon.
Late Day—Take info from morning & early afternoon, see if daily plan is working.
The pre-game is the most important part, says Moskowitz, because good planning provides the “psychological edge” all traders need. Once he knows his potential losses and gains, he adds, he gains confidence he can work his plan throughout the day.

At the end of the day, Moskowitz says, it's time to look back, analyze and learn. The lessons of today can always be put into play tomorrow.

Choosing a boy or girl?

I was reading some blog and chanced upon this interesting stuff. For those intending to have a baby, you can predict whether you will have a baby boy or girl just by conceiving on a certain month using a chart!



You can choose for yourself whether you want a boy or a girl by following the chart. The woman’s age from 18 to 45 (Chinese reckoning) is on the top line while the months Jan to Dec indicate the month when the baby is conceived. By following the chart you will be able to tell in advance whether your baby will be a boy or a girl. Thus, you can plan to have a boy or a girl.

It is said to be 99% accurate and the chart originated from a Royal tomb near Beijing, China. The original copy is kept in the Institute of Science of Peking.

Insight on Psychology of people

In times of uncertainty, like the loss of the loved ones or recession, we usually go through 5 unique stages:

1. Denial
2. Anger
3. Bargaining
4. Depression
5. Acceptance

Think of the times that you lose something. First you deny the fact that you lose it. Next you are angry for losing something. Then you started questioning yourself what if you had moved another direction. Finally you get depressed. And then you finally accepted that the thing is lost. Do you find it strangely familiar about your own emotions? Interesting.
