You Will Never Walk Alone

Finally completed 24 km route march! It was the most very physically and mentally gruelling march of BMT. We started at 1530 hrs where the sun is still up and burning on our heads. We started as a whole school group like a marathon but still remained in our platoons. Marched the first 4 km carrying a heavy fieldpack and 2 litres of water plus our trusty rifles. The first 4 km was a bit tough due to the heat. Then rested for 15 min before going on to the next 4 km and another 4 km intervals. After completing 12 km of road. We had our dinner at about 6 plus. We were so hungry and tired. Our legs started to ache already and shoulders hurting. Rested about 1 hr till night falls. All right, the last 12 km! Having rested and eaten, our platoon morale was super high! We sang non-stop all the way for the 4 km like those non-stop music hits and fast march all the way going like 5 km/h. But the last 8 km was the worst as we had to march in school and we are not supposed to sing so we won't wake up those School 2 buggers. Everyone were like marching zombies, all mentally enduring the pain and tireness. Finally we completed our march with a finale song, encouraging each other that we are reaching the finish end. It was an achievement that everyone will remember. There were blisters on our feets, toes bled, soaking uniforms from all the sweating. Finally over.
However, as we are in the army, there was never so called rest. Our rest period was doing all the sai kang stuff like carrying supplies and area cleaning. We had even PT lessons! But at least PT was toned down a bit or else we will die from injuries hahaha.
8 June will be Eugene's and my POP day! Looking forward to it! Oh yea congrats to Neil on his promotion after his 32 km road march! (8 km more!) That will be another endurance test in time to come.
